The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo book review

Hi and welcome back to Bombshell Book Club. If this is your first time visiting, my name is Victoria and I fell in love with reading back in March of 2020 when the entire world was in quarantine from the pandemic. It was one of the best things that happened to me. It helped me escape to different worlds when I felt trapped at home. Today I’m going to give a spoiler free review of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

What is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo about?

Evelyn Hugo is a stunningly beautiful hollywood actress who is growing up in the public eye. She enters showbiz at a young age and has to learn to navigate through her career. During her career she ends up getting married seven different times. The book takes through each of her marriages and how they helped her with her career. It was juicy, girly, and very fun.

What did you like about The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo?

I loved girly movies. Bring it on, Legally Blonde, etc. This book felt like I was watching a glamorous, girly film. I love how it took place over decades and I got the feeling like I was watching a very detailed documentary about a glamorous hollywood A-list star. The book also highlights true love and how sometimes it can be difficult.

Were there any twists in this story?

Not really. I never give spoilers in the review, and there is something that makes the story a little bit juicer but I definitely don’t consider it to be a major twist. Sometimes I read a book and a twist comes that absolutely shocks me. I did not have that experience reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

Do you recommend the book?

Absolutely! If you are into juicy stories, are fascinated with women of Hollywood or if you are fascinated with Hollywood life, this book will be a great read for you. It was a book that I felt myself needing to get back to. I had to know what happened next. You can purchase it here.
