Boldt Castle Wedding

My Fairytale wedding at Boldt Castle

After months of planning and excitement, we finally had our Castle Wedding and it was an absolute dream come true.
For those of you who haven’t been following me on this journey, Tyler and I have been married for 4 years now but we never had an official ceremony. So we decided to have it at Boldt Castle in upstate New York.

**Tour the castle with me!**

I was so nervous about this ceremony for many reasons. I was worried it would rain all day, I was worried that we wouldn’t have enough privacy, I was just worried that something would go wrong.

In the end, the day was perfect and I couldn’t be more grateful! We had the opportunity to tour the castle the day before our ceremony, 9/5/18. It was 90 degrees and full sun. Even though there was plenty of shade and a nice breeze on the island, it was very very hot. I was praying it would cool down for our wedding and surprisingly- it did!

We were able to get ready in the bridal suite, which was supposed to be George Boldt’s office. It had a fantastic amount of lighting, a gorgeous mirror and these beautiful walls!

Boldt Castle Weddings are held in the perfect location on the property. Right in front of the Dove Cote. There is a gorgeous lawn to the right of the castle’s main entrance. It is overlooking the gorgeous Italian gardens and the power house. It was picture perfect in every way.

Alexa and Zoey had these adorable flower girl baskets that I got from party city. They each had one rose worth of petals because I really didn’t want to make a huge mess. In hindsight, we didn’t even really need rose petals. The grounds were pretty enough just the way they were, but the girls had an awesome time doing their job.

They spread the petals perfectly on the walkway for me and I just had to take a photo of it!

We came across this awesome group of ladies on the boat to the castle and they were excited about our wedding. They were kind enough to take a couple of photos of us during our ceremony which I really appreciate! The picture turned out super cute and I’m so grateful for them! Everyone on the island were congratulating us, taking pictures with the girls, offering to take pictures for us, just being so incredibly kind! It was so sweet!
Our ceremony was short and sweet. All we did was say our traditional vows and kissed and that was it. Once we finished our vows, we were free to take photos around the island. Here are some of my favorite shots!

We had an unforgettable day. I highly recommend Boldt Castle if you are looking for a unique, romantic, fairytale wedding. The staff was incredible and it is extremely affordable to have a wedding there. This is because you are not able to have your ceremony inside, and you only get an hour and a half for your ceremony time. You would have to have your reception elsewhere, but I say this place is beyond perfect for small ceremonies and elopements! I had so much fun, I think we are going to head back to the thousands islands again for a family vacation in the future. There was a lot of things we didn’t get to see-including another castle!
