Let’s talk about what a brand ambassador is for a minute. A brand ambassador is a person who is paid to promote your product or services. This is usually seen with celebrities and social media influencers with a very large following.  

If you have a blog or business, it is very important to have ambassadors. Ambassadors really help spread the word about your business. They can reach an audience that you most likely can’t. Also, an overwhelming number of people tend to make their purchases based on word of mouth. This is why it is helpful to have multiple ambassadors.

I see paid promotions every single day on other social sites, women sharing makeup products, vloggers sharing new furniture, literally everything I see these days is some kind of partnership. Why are companies constantly working with influencers? Because it is effective.

What I continue to wonder, though, is why brands don’t have ambassadors on Pinterest, to share their pins?

I have been a social media addict for years. I’ve been there, done that with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, WeheartIt, etc. After all these years, the platform that remains the fairest of them all is Pinterest.

Really? What is so great about Pinterest? Why it so much better than these other platforms?

Where do I begin? So I have been on Pinterest since the very beginning, back when it was invitation only! I still can’t believe how quickly time flies!

So, first of all, let me get this out of the way right now. Pinterest is not a social media platform, it is a search engine. A visual search engine where people go to get ideas. People who are planning to do something, or purchase something, come to Pinterest to get ideas. I can not tell you how many items that I have purchased after finding them on Pinterest, how many outfits I have made after finding them on Pinterest, how many project the girls and I have done from Pinterest. It is the best place to go if you are looking for something new.

So? Why do I need to pay someone to share my pins on Pinterest??

What people don’t realize is that Pinterest is a HUGE driver of website traffic and product sales. People save the ideas they find on Pinterest so they can purchase them. Pinterest is literally a gold mine for businesses. Don’t believe me? Here are two killer examples

College Lifestyle Blogger Morgan Timm just released a video yesterday actually, in the video she explains to us how she started blogging, grew her audience, and began to make money from her corner of the web. She says, it all started with Pinterest. Don’t get me wrong, she had already a comfy amount of monthly page views (about 1k per day). Until one day. One of her pins went viral and she began to get tens of thousands of page views. Her Pin had skyrocketed her traffic over night!

Grace and Lace, a crochet sock company, started their ecommerce business around the same time that Pinterest was first released. They created a super cute pair of crochet leg warmers, took a cute photo and posted it to Pinterest. Well, it 2012 it was one of the most pinned images of the year. Mega Viral. What’s funny is I had pinned this too! I completely knew what they were talking about when they showed it on the show!

These are just two amazing examples that I can think of off the top of my head, but there is SO much room for success on Pinterest!

There are so many products, makeup looks, design trends, etc, that are viral on Pinterest, these have a powerful influence in the Pinterest community. Brands should totally be paying ambassadors to work on Pinterest just the same as other platforms.

If you are a business owner, or blogger, it would be very wise to find a few great ambassadors in your marketing plan.

Where do I find Pinterest ambassadors for my blog or business?

Well I thought you would never ask!

I am a Pinterest Ambassador and I am now booking new clients! I have been on Pinterest for years and I’ve single handedly pinned over twenty thousand images. OH MY GOODNESS! I can’t even believe that! I love to pin fashion, beauty, lifestyle, interior design, travel, parenting, personal finance, and making money from home (as well as a bunch of other things, but these are my most popular boards). Am currently averaging 298k + Monthly views and that number increases every day. I am contributing to many group boards related to my topics as well as tailwind tribes. I find that by using these methods I can grow my monthly views.

If you aren’t interested in booking me, You can easily find other influencers in your niche who you could hire to work for you. I would start with the people you are already following on Pinterest. You are obviously following them because they serve amazing content, and it is most likely in your niche, check their bio to see if they have a blog or website. If they do, find their contact information and reach out to them. Tell them you are looking for a Pinterest ambassador to help spread your pins!

Number of followers means nothing. This is the best part. There are so many people on pinterest rocking it with a smaller number of followers. This is because they have learned how to take advantage of the pinterest algorithm and really get their pins in front of people.

What type of pins does their audience like?
